“I was compelled to truly follow my heart and intuition that told me I can create a passionate creative career, and I followed that all the way.”

How did your company/brand come to be?

I had the idea to create a living plant wall that was more sustainable, required no care or maintenance, that can bring peace and zen and joy into the space. I first created one for myself, then opened an Etsy shop and orders started to roll in pretty quickly thereafter. One year later I quit my other job in order to dedicate myself full time to my passion.

How did a past career or passion guide you?

I love connecting with nature, and find happiness when I am spending time outdoors. I also love to create something from nothing, and work with my hands. I was compelled to truly follow my heart and intuition that told me I can create a passionate creative career, and I followed that all the way. My deep interest in spiritual and personal transformation work also served me by supporting me to shift my mindset into one that manifested my vision.

As a single mother myself, I strived to carve a career that fueled me but my biggest challenge was the naysayers, how have you dealt with that?

I have dedicated a great deal time to work on myself and build up my self-worth. As I have stepped more into my power and created a deeper connection and love for myself, the naysayers have all but fallen away, or I simply just do not listen to the noise. I stand grounded in what I am here to do and nothing else matters.

“My art represents healing, rebirth and connection. Connection to nature, also supports connection to ourselves and others, as we are all one. Nature is a constant reminder that life is eternal and ever-new.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success?

Tenacity, strong work ethic, passion, and joy all are important traits, or ways of being I committed to, that served me well in paving my way to success.

Share with us the ways you take time to honor yourself?

I celebrate myself with self care, and nurture my body and soul. I go for massages, body work, healing, yoga, meditation, music and art festivals, time with my family, my son, and my friends.

What was a lesson learned that helps you daily?

Surrender to your path, the one the universe is leading you to, tap in, listen, and take action.

They say art is a form of expression, how does your art speak for you?

My art represents healing, rebirth and connection. Connection to nature, also supports connection to ourselves and others, as we are all one. Nature is a constant reminder that life is eternal and ever-new.

I find women have a hard time selling themselves. What is your philosophy when pitching your company? Do you lead with pitching your mission or your work?

I am my artwork and my artwork is me, but it also is greater than me. I celebrate and promote my artwork, and myself and my message, because the message is one that needs to be shared.

What do you look for in a community? Knowledge? Support? Connection? (rate each 1-5, 5 being most important)

5/4/5/5 All of these are important and all work together to create a foundation from which success is built.

What's the one thing you outsourced that helped your business grow?

Social Media and finances, which opened up the time for me to be in my creative flow.

“Collaboration is the key to access a greater level of success and impact because you are tapping into the idea that connection and synergy of individuals is more powerful that a single individual.”

How important is collaboration for your business?

Extremely. Collaboration is the key to access a greater level of success and impact because you are tapping into the idea that connection and synergy of individuals is more powerful that a single individual.

A key part of success is building strong, professional relationships. What practices do you use to cultivate them with your colleagues?

I connect and go deep with with all my relationships. I speak to my vision and seek to understand theirs as well. It’s from this place of deeper understanding of the what and more importantly the WHY of what we are up to that creates the opportunities.
